Kuching - 28th March 2023: The Ministry of Transport, Sarawak (MOTS) conducted a project management course with focus on Sarawak Government Procedures over one and a half days from 24th – 27th March 2023.
30 participants from the Ministry including 3 from its agency, Sarawak Rivers Board attended the programme held at The Waterfront Hotel, Kuching on 24th March 2023 and at the Seminar room of Bailtulmakmur Building II on 27th March 2023.
The course was initiated by Dato Ir Alice Jawan Empaling, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry with the objective to equip, especially the young officers of the Ministry with knowledge and project management skills to manage Sarawak’s transport related projects in an effective and efficient manner.
The course was conducted by Ir Tiong King Wei, a very experienced officer who is also the head of the Policy Formulation and Project Management Division of the Ministry.
In Dato’s remarks, the participants of the course were encouraged to learn further through reading and to learn by doing with guidance of the Heads of Departments in the Ministry in implementing and monitoring the projects of the Ministry.
The Ministry believes that continuous learning is key to effective development. Among the technical courses previously conducted by the Ministry includes Post-Contract Project Management Course on 11th November 2021 and Course on Forensic Observation and Analysis on Reinforced Concrete on 29th September 2022.
