KUCHING: KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital welcomes the announcement by AirAsia Indonesia on its new route connecting Indonesia’s capital Jakarta (CGK) and Kuching (KCH), which will commence this June 15.
We are expecting 20 per cent increase of patients from Jakarta with this new route.
General manager of KPJ Kuching, Nurhazimah Mahat, viewed the announcement as ‘a long-awaited good news especially for the health tourism industry’.
She said a number of health tourists to Sarawak could rise with the new route linking Jakarta and Kuching.
Nurhazimah said it would strengthen the bilateral relations between the Malaysia and Indonesia, with a positive impact on economic development. especially for Sarawak.
“We are expecting 20 per cent increase of patients from Jakarta with this new route,” she said.
Meanwhile, Nurhazimah also expressed hope that a flight route connecting Pontianak and Kuching would also be available in the near future as there was a high percentage of patients from West Kalimantan, Indonesia who were seeking treatment at KPJ Kuching.
