1. KUCHING INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT



On 1961, it handled the first ever scheduled services to Borneo, from Singapore. The modern open plan terminal complex was opened in 2006. Major base for the Royal Malaysian Air Force (No 7 Squadron RMAF) The airport also collocated with the RMAF Kuching, home to the No. 7 Squadron RMAF. Airport is the secondary hub for Malaysia Airlines and a principal hub (together with Miri) for MASWings.

2. MIRI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT



Major hub for MASWings as it close to the border of Brunei. Located 9.5 km south east of Miri In 2014, the airport handled 2,363,080 passengers on 49,204 flight movements. 2nd largest airport in Sarawak. 6th busiest airport in Malaysia and 2nd in Sarawak after Kuching Airport.

3. SIBU AIRPORT



A former military airfield, Sibu Airport was remodeled into a full-fledged commercial airport in 1962. Located 22.5 km from Sibu town. In August 2012, the new terminal, which can accommodate up to 1.8 million passengers annually, was opened to cater to the increasing number of business and leisure passengers to Sibu. In 2018, the airport handled 1,579,528 passengers on 20,869 flights. 11th busiest airport in Malaysia and 3rd in Sarawak after Kuching Airport and Miri Airport.

4. BINTULU AIRPORT



History of Bintulu airport began in early 1937 when the British colony built an airfield situated between a river at one end and the sea coast at the other end. Opened in 2002, located 5.5km from Bintulu town. Able to handled 1 million passengers annually. In 2018, the airport handled 417,918 passengers and 16,787 aircraft movements. The airport plays a key role in supporting Sarawak‘s offshore oil and gas industry.

5. LIMBANG AIRPORT



Airport opened on the 15th July 2004, Limbang Airport serves the town of Limbang and the state of Sarawak. Formerly a Short Take-Off and Landing (STOL) port, the airport is 4.8 km from Limbang town. Its capable of handling 250,000 passengers annually with a single runway measuring 1,500 m. In 2018, the airport handled 49,181 pasengers, 2,112 aircraft movements and 474,513kg of cargo.

6. MUKAH AIRPORT



In April 2009, the federal government allocated RM436 million for a new airport in Mukah. As at 2020, the airport cost was revealed to be RM360 million by Deputy Chief Minister James Jemut Masing. Works began in July 2017 and were scheduled for completion by August 2020. The main contractors in this project were Ibraco Construction Sdn. Bhd. and Hock Peng Furniture & General Contractor Sdn. Bhd. Due to the Movement Control Order, the airport was expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2021, later than previously scheduled. The airport began its operation on 17 June 2021 with the first plane, MASwings‘ MH3412 Twin Otter from Kuching landing at 10.05am.The same Twin Otter later made the first take off from the airport to Kuching at 10.25am. The airport utilizes full LED airfield ground lighting (AGL) system, making it the first fully monitored LED airport in Malaysia.

7. TANJUNG MANIS AIRPORT



The Tanjung Manis Airport is certified as a category 2B airport with a minimum field length needed for take-off of between 800m-1,200m and suitable for aircraft wingspan of between 15m-24m. Tanjung Manis was opened at 2001 and managed by (Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation) STIDC owned company, Tanjung Manis Development Berhad.

8. MULU AIRPORT



Mulu Airport serves the area of Mulu in Sarawak. The airport is located 2.4 km from Mulu town and is the main gateway to the Gunung Mulu National Park. Mulu Airport is the main link to the outside world for Mulu National Park and the surrounding communities, which are not accessible by road. There are resort accommodations at the National Park, but the nearest villages are Long Terawan, downstream 21.7 km (13.5 mi) to the west, and Long Atip 26.1 km (16.2 miles) to the south. Rumah Bawang Grang in Brunei is only 23.1 km (14.4 miles) to the north-northwest.
